EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Bailey Buntain – Bunheads
Filed Under: Uncategorized

ABC Family is known for putting out hits that touch on important issues, make you need tissues from all the tears… or for all the laughs, and characters that you can’t help but want to be. Bunheads is no differet. Bailey Buntain, who plays the loveable and beautiful Ginny Thompson on Bunheads, sat down to talk to us about the new season and what her journey in entertainment has been like so far.

Bailey Buntain

AOD: First off, thank you for taking time to talk with us.

Can you give us a brief background of how you got into acting?

Bailey: I started out dancing as a kid, that led to musical theater and then developed
into acting. I realized that the story telling was what I loved, and dancing and singing
where tools to do that.

AOD: You play Ginny Thompson on ABC Family’s hit show Bunheads. Can you tell us how
you came to get this role?

Bailey: I was living in New York at the time and went through a series of auditions
there. At every audition I had to read for the part and dance on pointe. They then
flew me to LA for the network test and I found out that night I had gotten the part.
Lots of jumping up and down and screaming happened after that. :)

AOD: Season two kicked off with a bit of a different vibe. All the girls were doing their
own thing, Fanny had the ballet studio closed down, and Michelle was back in
Vegas. By the end of the episode it appeared that things were back to normal.
What can we expect from this season?

Bailey: When Michelle left our world turned upside down again. When she comes back,
we get a part of our world’s center back. The studio is back, ballet is back, her
influence is back. Over this next season you get to know the girls and Michelle better.
You also see how much she has integrated into Paradise and our lives. She becomes
our main person we look up to. …even if she isn’t ready for that.

AOD: Last season we saw Ginny go through a few personal struggles, including her
personal relationships. Will we see that expand a bit more now that she is
experiencing life outside her long time boyfriend?

Bailey: Ginny has a lot going on this season. Her Dad is getting remarried to a crazy
woman and her Mom is having a nervous breakdown because of it. Ginny is caught in
the middle trying to keep everything together. A new family moves to Paradise and
the daughter makes Ginny feel threatened and like she is loosing her friends. On the
flip side the new brother and her have automatic fireworks. She is somewhere
between smitten and confused. But with her main problems she finds herself leaning
on Michelle….

AOD: We’ve also got to see some issues Boo is facing at home, Sasha not wanting to go
home, and Melanie dealing with her grandfather and of course her ever-annoying
brother. Will this new season break more into those individual stories or stick to
the group as a whole?

Bailey: Both. It definitely dives into personal stories but the through line is the group
as whole. They are connected. They’re a group.

AOD: Aside from yourself, who is your favorite character to watch?

Bailey: So hard. Everyone is so good! I love Truly’s quirk though.

AOD: What about this show do you think the fans like so much?

Bailey: It is so quick and funny and smart. But It is sweet and real at the same time.
And the dancing is awesome!

AOD: We think that the girls offer a wide spectrum of personalities for the viewers to
relate to. In your own life, do you relate the most to Ginny, or are you more like
one of the other girls?

Bailey: I am similar to Ginny in some ways but also very different in others. I think
there are parts of the other 3 bunheads that I relate to too. The characters are so real
that it’s easy to relate and see aspects of yourself.

AOD: Obviously you are also a dancer. Are you pursuing both careers or do you want to
stick to acting?

Bailey: My main focus is acting. But I still love to dance so this job is the best!

AOD: The fans are the reason why Bunheads is back on the air for another season. What
would you say to them if you could say anything?

Bailey: Thank you so much! You are the reason we do it. I hope you enjoy and have as much
fun watching as we had making it!

AOD: Thank you for taking time to speak with us and we look forward to watching
Bunheads on Mondays at 9 pm EST.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Janel Parrish – Pretty Little Liars
Filed Under: Uncategorized

ABC Family

AOD: We’ve had the privilege of talking with you throughout your time on Pretty Little Liars. This season it would appear you are the bad guy, appearing changed, and yet still at your old games. Is it hard switching back and forth between good and bad?

Janel: It’s so much fun! I think that the best part about playing Mona is that I get the chance to show so many different colors.

AOD: Were you aware of the journey the writers had for your character, Mona, on this show?

Janel: No idea! When I got the role, I was told it would just be one episode. I had no idea I would end up a regular, let alone get to play the main villain, A!

AOD: Just as it seems the writers could not possibly come up with another twist, yet another twists jumped out and surprises (or scares) us all. Any hint as to what we may be able to expect this season?

Janel: You’ll see a lot of Mona! Is she crazy or isn’t she…that’s the biggest question.

AOD: We’ve seen many characters get killed off, or ones we think are good, go bad (Tobey…). Are we going to see more of this, without going into too many details?

Janel: DEFINITELY. We keep the surprises coming!

AOD: If you could switch roles with any other character, is there one you would want to play?

Janel: I think Spencer would be fun to play. She’s so smart and sarcastic.

AOD: As Pretty Little Liars transitions from one season into another, does it ever feel surreal that it has gotten this far?

Janel: Absolutely! I thank our fans every day that they’ve gotten us this far.

AOD: Aside from Pretty Little Liars, is there any other projects we should be on the look out for? (We recently saw you on Hawaii Five-O.)

Janel: I just filmed a movie with Jackson Rathbone called “The Concerto”. I Think it’s gonna be amazing.

AOD: Thank you again for your time and we look forward to seeing what other problems Mona can cause.

Janel: Thank you so much!

We encourage everyone to tune in on Tuesdays at 8 pm EST on ABC Family for Pretty Little Liars, starring Janel Parrish as Mona (Possibly A)!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Susan Park – 1600 Penn
Filed Under: Uncategorized

1600 Penn is a political/comedy/dramedy kicking off on January 10th. We got the chance to sit down with 1600 Penn actress, Susan Park, who plays Stacey Kim, sat down to talk with us about the new series!

SP

First off, thank you for taking time to talk with us.

Hi there, it’s my pleasure!

Can you give us a brief background of how you got into acting?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to act or tell stories. But my parents being traditional Korean immigrants, were none too happy about the idea of me pursuing acting! So I had to trick my mom by applying to a performing arts magnet program in high school. She thought I was applying to the medical or math & science program. (I am asian after all.) Then I double tricked her again by only applying to acting schools in London, England for university. Because, I knew that I couldn’t like, not get a degree, you know? That would have been very shameful for our family. So in short, by pure deception.

You play Stacey Kim in NBC’s new show 1600 Penn. Can you tell us what this show is about for those who don’t already know?

I think the heart of 1600 Penn, is about a family of lovable yet imperfect characters — and they just happen to be living at the White House as the first family. No matter how different they may be on paper or how crazy the situation gets, we’re totally able to recognize little bits of these characters in ourselves. It’s what gives them their depth and makes them so relatable. It’s also what makes them so endearing.

How does your character fit into the storyline?

I play a mailroom worker, who is the love interest of Josh Gad’s character, Skip Gilchrist. So as Skip would put it, his ‘on again, off again, maybe girlfriend…’

1600 Penn is different from anything else currently on air. Do you think that will help it or hurt it?

I think it will help. I have no idea to be honest! But I think it is so refreshingly different. And I guess no one ever really says, gosh that show is brilliant, I love it so much, it’s just like every other show I’ve ever seen!

We saw that Obama hosted some of the cast and crew of 1600 Penn at the White House and watched the pilot episode. Did you take part in that?

I didn’t take part in that, but it was pretty exciting to hear.

Getting a nod from the president is a pretty good accomplishment for a television show. Do you think it’s a blessing to have one of the co-creators be one of Obama’s previous speechwriters, Jon Lovett?

I would imagine so, absolutely. To have the life experience of working first hand as one of Obama’s speechwriters, and to be able to draw from that must be pretty cool. Gosh. He’s so smart.

What kind of things can viewers expect from this show? Drama? Love? Obviously politics.

I think viewers can expect a lot of laughter. Especially from Josh Gad, who is as funny in person as himself as he is playing his character, Skip.

Can you remind us when 1600 Penn airs?

1600 Penn airs this Thursday, January 10 8:30 pm and then a second episode at 9.30pm. It sandwiches The Office which is on at 9pm.

Aside from 1600 Penn, which we will all tune in for, do you have any other projects you are working on, or is this your primary focus at the moment?

Aside from 1600 Penn, I just finished a small part on a cool film called Electric Slide starring Jim Sturgess, that’s due out later this year. Also, I’ve been working on some web videos that I’ve written.

Viewers and fans are very important in this line of work. What would you say to all your fans if you could say anything?

The audience, I would argue, is one the MOST important. I would say thank you. It’s such an honor to be let into people’s lives like that. It such a shared experience not only between the show and its audience, but even within the audience themselves. I hope that they fall in love with 1600 Penn and I feel very lucky to be any part of it.

Well thank you so much for taking time to talk to us. We will all tune in to watch 1600 Penn on January 10th at 9:30 pm EST!

SUMMER SCHEDULE

Hey everyone,

We just wanted to give you a quick update! The summer is approaching and we typically slow down a bit on programming through the summer. We’d rather you be out at the beach, or doing whatever it is you like to do outdoors, than sitting in front of your computer. Keep in mind, you can always download and listen to podcasts right on your phone if you don’t want to stay cooped up in doors.

We will be going full throttle at least into June. We might take a bit of time to cool down in July, but why slow down when we’ve had some of the most amazing guests on recently. We are hitting up the summer television shows now and are hoping to bring you some of your favorite celebrity guests from those shows. Stay tuned and keep checking back for our schedule!

Also, we have updated our ‘Contact Us’ page. You can now mail in music, or letters, or whatever it is you want for us to check out. We still take submissions through email at booking@artistsondemandonline.com.

If email doesn’t work, or you want to send a hard copy, please send it to:

Artists On Demand
c/o Kristin Downer
P.O. Box 290073
Port Orange, FL 32129-0073

Make sure to tell us what you want us to do with it.

Here are some of the services we will offer:
- Send an album in for a music review
- Send your book in for a book review
- Invites to events (if we have staff in your area, we will send them)
- Send in requests for AOD to attend and cover your event.
- Submit music to be played during our upcoming Sunday Spotlight shows. (60 minutes of non-stop music every Sunday night at 7 pm EST starting in June.)
- And more… just send it in!

We are looking forward to bringing you all the entertainment you want this summer! See you around!
